Incomplete Love

You were like an angel when we did meet,
You swept me away off my feet.
You held me close and hugged me tight,
And planted on my cheek a kiss so light!

You came to my ear and whispered to me,
Never in this life will I ever leave thee.
Our love, you said, was so gentle and pure,
Forever and always all darkness it shall endure.

'You are my princess', you always said,
I smiled with pride, your eyes I read
The eyes that sparkled like the stars above,
The eyes that spoke of nothing but Love.

Our love swelled like a raging sea,
Until you said, 'I'll be back, wait for me'.
The wait lasted for nights and day,
Before I realized you had gone away.

Years have passed, such lonely years,
I still think of you, still feel u near.
These were yesterdays that I still adore,
These are memories with You no more.

If I Could Catch a Rainbow

THE ULTIMATE BLOG CHALLENGE DAY 8

If I could catch a rainbow,
I would bring it down to you,
So that I can keep you close,
And never say adieu.

If I could catch a rainbow,
I'd bathe it with our love,
I'd let it paint your smile
Before putting back above.

If I could catch a rainbow,
I'd seal it with a kiss,
So when you look above,
It's me who you'll never miss.

But I cannot catch a rainbow,
Though something I can attest,
I shall hold your hand forever,
A friend I shall be the best.

An Accidental Kiss

The Ultimate Blog Challenge Day 2

Gentle touch, brush akin,
Skin to skin.
A moment's passion,
Sudden gone.
A kiss was it? Or accident?

Trembling lips,
A heartbeat skips.
A moment's dawn,
Sudden gone.
A kiss was it? Or accident?

Warmth in eyes,
The twinkle implies.
Ah! what bliss,
An accidental kiss.

Have a little faith in me

A thousand rainbows
we vowed to see,
Side by side,
Fingers entwined,
Hundreds seen, rest yet to see,
Have a little faith in me.

Dusky days,
no shadows cast,
Solace you seek
in my arms,
Through golden tresses I whisper to thee,
Have a little faith in me.

Sands of time
trickling down,
'No time for me'
you complain,
Kiss you soft, an earnest plea,
Have a little faith in me.

Our wrinkled faces shine so bright,
Side by side,
Eye to eye,
Till death do us apart,
a promise to thee,
Have a little faith in me.

The Immortal Death

My friend Biswadeep gave me a challenge to write about
something morbid, yet not depressing. What can be a better
choice than the life of a Phoenix, the one who rises from death.
DG, this post is for you...!

So delicate and frail was I, My youth had been lost,
Death was round the corner, My soul had been frost.

They call me the Sun's bird, For a five hundred year I live,
I die to live again, My death they never bereave.

Sun, my glorious sun, I sing my song for you,
I was always your bird, Since the world was new.

Weakness turns into strength, As old age into youth,
My red-and gold dazzles, Its time to face the truth.

I am born a thousand times, And a thousand deaths I die,
I rise from my ashes, I spread my wings and fly.

I am the bird of fire, Immortal as forever,
The world is my play ground, Death can touch me never.

I soar up in the sky, My heart devoid of sorrow,
With my new found zeal, I am the angel of tomorrow.

The phoenix is a mythical sacred fire bird, which has a vibrant plumage and a tail of gold-and-scarlet. It has a  500-1000 year life-cycle, after which it ignites itself, burns fiercely and reduces to ashes. A new young phoenix arises from the ashes, reborn anew to live again.

No-sense nonsense

There was a girl from Spain,
Who looked ugly and plain,
When asked why,
She let out a cry,
"My beauty got washed off in the rain!"

There was an Old Man from Close,
Who had a very long nose,
When asked, "did you lie?"
He exclaimed with a deep sigh,
"It's a result of drug overdose!"

There was a pretty Princess of Dandy,
Who lived a castle of candy,
Along with her lover,
She ran away and took cover,
And none again saw the pretty Princess of Candy.

The Story of a Cinder Girl

The Ball was on, what a lovely sight,
She glimmered like the Star of the Night.

Silver gown with silver shoes,
Her golden hair was let down loose.

Diamond pendant, silver brooch,
Softly she alighted from the coach.

Heads turned round as she made her way,
Her beauty took all breath away.

The Ugly Sisters stood aghast,
As the Prince took her hand so fast.

The couple took the centre-stage,
The Ugly Sisters fumed in rage!

While they danced, he held her close,
He kissed her eyes and kissed her nose.

'Who are you, my beautiful one?'
'You are the prettiest beneath the sun.'

'Let us become man and wife,'
'I promise you a wonderful life.'

The Prince was caught in her daze,
Deep in her eyes did he gaze.

The flame of love had been lit,
She smiled at heart at the thought of it.

She hugged the Prince nice and tight,
And the hour changed to mid-night.

She let Him go in sudden fright,
Hastily the stairs did she alight.

After her, the Prince did dart,
She was gone, with coach and cart.

A silver shoe had fallen off,
Finding her now wont be tough.

The Prince could see a ray of hope,
Hence no need of dope or rope!

The feet in which the slipper slide,
Would be the Prince's dear little bride.

Next morning the Prince did go,
From door to door of friend and foe.

Maidens flocked and the shoe they tried,
They all wished to be the Prince's bride.

No feet did fit the dainty shoe,
Most were big, small were few.

As the dusk set in over the little town,
The Prince reached a house colored brown.

A tired Prince knocked at the door,
Two Ugly Sisters stood before.

Sister One tried slipping in,
Her foot was far too small and thin.

Along came then Sister Two,
Still no luck with the shoe.

'Anyone else?', the Prince asked in tired tone,
'NO!' shouted the Ugly Sisters in unison.

The Cinder Girl all this while,
Was seeing her Prince with a big broad smile.

She had been mopping all the floor,
When the Prince had knocked at the door.

Behind the door did she hide,
Though she knew she was the bride.

Suddenly the Prince saw her golden hair,
From behind the door, flying in the air!

'Someone's there, get her here',
The shoe, even she needs to wear.'

'She's a maid', screamed the Ugly Sisters,
Their face got covered with instant blisters!

The Cinder Girl came to try the shoe,
On her, every eye was glue.

She slipped in her dainty foot,
In glee the Prince did hoot!

There she was the Cinder Girl,
Her foot in the slipper, like a pearl.

The Prince was happy, jumped with joy,
'I found my bride, it's time to enjoy!'

The Ugly Sisters burnt in rage,
They were evil, they were no sage.

A spark of light blazed the night,
Fairy God-Mother appeared in sight.

A swish of wand here and there,
And Cinder Girl was in bridal wear!

Silver gown with silver shoes,
Her golden hair was let down loose.

With another swish of magic wand,
A carriage came from far beyond.

With horses attached six to eight,
It would take them to Royal Gate.

The Cinder Girl thanked the fairy,
And started on her way to marry.

With flowers, songs, food and wine,
The wedding went off just too fine.

There they were, Man and Wife,
The oath was taken for their life.

The Cinder Girl was now the queen
Which had always been her dream.

The kingdom filled with happiness and laughter,
And they lived happily ever after!

Just another text message

Few days ago, i received a text from one of my dearest friends. What I read, actually made me start thinking. And I thought of setting your thoughts into motion too....

I have seen castles made out of sand,
Met people who believe destiny is engraved on the palm of their hands...
I have seen people change their faith,
Experienced love change into hate,
I have seen people grow younger with age,
And a bird who wouldn't fly out of an open cage...
I have seen love sold for money,
People who are devastated inside but outside they are funny.
I have seen the unicorn fall in love with the toad,
People who owned half the city, have now hit the road.
I have learnt to expect the unexpected,
Perfection does not exist, we are all defected.
Everyone cries, some just hide their tear,
They say coal turns diamond over a thousand years.
Someone may believe you are one in a million,
For others, you are another nobody in the billion.
So live life with all that you have,
Cherish all your moments, Happy or Sad.
Feel blessed with what you are,
'Coz life is too short, and we can't go too far.....

P.S : Author unknown, but beautiful words through his/her pen.....
